Based in Brest in French Britanny, Baston has been active since 2015. After a debut EP entitled « Gesture » back in 2015,  they  went off radar, recruited a fourth member on keyboard and released their debut album « Primates » in 2019. The four-piece steered away from their earlier garage pop sound to focus on what they call « Motorik Pop », influenced by Krautrock’s hypnotic rhythms,  with a heavy focus on melodies, as well as elements reminiscent of cold-wave or shoegaze.

Their second album « La Martyre » follows the same path, with even more focus on synths,  and post-punk influenced guitar riffs giving the band’s sound more edge than ever. « La Martyre » features 8 new uppercut tracks named after 8 nightclub from their native region (Finistère).
