Based in Brest in French britanny, Baston has been active since 2015. After a debut EP entitled “Gesture” back in 2015, , they went off radar, recruited a fourth member on keyboard, and started recording a debut album, “Primates”. The four-piece steered away from their earlier garage pop sound to focus on what they call “Motorik Pop”, influenced by Krautrock’s hypnotic rhythms, but with a heavy focus on melodies, as well as elements reminiscent of cold-wave or shoegaze.
